Kie.ai Pricing in 2026: What the Credits Cost and Where It's Actually Cheapest
How Kie.ai's credit billing works, what Claude, GPT, Gemini, image, video and music models cost there, and how those prices compare to official APIs and other providers.
Kie.ai is an API aggregator that resells access to Claude, GPT, Gemini, Veo, Kling, Suno and hundreds of other models through one API key and one wallet. Its pitch is price: on many models it undercuts the official API. This post explains how Kie.ai bills, what the popular models cost there, and where it is (and isn’t) the cheapest option.
All prices below come from our Kie.ai provider page and Kie.ai’s public pricing page, as of October 2026. Prices change often, so check the live pages before committing.
How Kie.ai billing works
- Credits, not subscriptions. You top up a wallet and every request is charged in credits. One credit is $0.005, so 200 credits = $1.
- 80 free credits for new accounts ($0.40 of usage) to test models in the playground before integrating.
- No charge for failed generations. If an image or video task fails, the credits aren’t deducted.
- Volume bonus. Larger top-ups get bonus credits; Kie.ai cites a 10% bonus on a $1,250 top-up.
- Billing units vary by model: per million tokens for LLMs, per image, per second or per video for media models.
- OpenAI-compatible chat API, so existing OpenAI SDK code works by changing the base URL and key.
LLM pricing: the biggest discounts
This is where Kie.ai stands out. On frontier closed models it typically charges 30–40% of the official list price.
| Model | Kie.ai (input / output per 1M) | Official API | Saving |
|---|---|---|---|
| Claude Sonnet 5.5 | $0.80 / $4.00 | $2.00 / $10.00 (Anthropic) | 60% |
| Claude Opus 5.5 | $1.60 / $8.00 | $4.00 / $20.00 | 60% |
| Claude 4.5 Haiku | $0.275 / $1.425 | $1.00 / $5.00 | ~72% |
| GPT-6 Sol | $0.60 / $3.00 | $2.00 / $10.00 (OpenAI) | 70% |
| GPT-6 Luna | $0.03 / $0.15 | $0.10 / $0.50 | 70% |
| GPT-5.6 Sol | $1.40 / $8.40 | $4.00 / $20.00 | 58–65% |
| Gemini 3 Flash | $0.15 / $0.90 | $0.50 / $3.00 (Google) | 70% |
| Gemini 2.5 Flash | $0.09 / $0.75 | $0.30 / $2.50 | 70% |
| Grok 4.3 | $0.50 / $1.00 | $1.25 / $2.50 (xAI) | 60% |
| DeepSeek V4.1 Flash | $0.12 / $0.475 | $0.30 / $1.20 (DeepSeek) | 60% |
For every model in that table, Kie.ai is the cheapest provider we track, ahead of OpenRouter, Amazon Bedrock and the official APIs. Prompt caching is supported for Claude, with cache reads billed at 10% of the input rate, the same structure Anthropic uses.

Image generation: cheap, but not always the cheapest
On images the gap is much smaller, and some providers beat Kie.ai outright.
| Model | Kie.ai | Cheapest elsewhere |
|---|---|---|
| Z-Image | $0.004 | $0.004 (Muapi) |
| Imagen 4 | $0.02 | $0.03 (Muapi); $0.04 at Google |
| Seedream 5.0 Lite | $0.0275 | $0.0325 (Muapi) |
| Gemini 3.1 Flash Image | $0.04 | $0.045 at Google |
| Flux 2 Pro | $0.025 | $0.015 (Replicate) |
| GPT Image 1.5 | $0.02 | $0.009 (fal.ai) |
Kie.ai’s listed image prices are usually the low end of a range: higher resolutions and quality settings cost more (Flux 2 Pro runs $0.025–$0.06 depending on resolution). Compare at the resolution you actually need. The cheapest image generation APIs ranking covers every provider.
Video and music
| Model | Kie.ai | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Kling 3.0 | from $0.07/sec | cheapest we track; Kling AI direct is $0.084/sec |
| Seedance 2.0 | from $0.057/sec | standard tier; a cheaper fast variant is also offered. Atlas Cloud charges $0.112/sec |
| Veo 3.1 | per video, from $0.15 | price rises with quality and length; Google charges $0.40/sec |
| Suno V5.5 | from $0.06/request | Muapi charges $0.09 |
Video pricing depends heavily on resolution, duration and audio, so the “from” price is the shortest, lowest-resolution option. The cheapest video generation APIs ranking compares per-second prices.
Is Kie.ai worth it?
Good fit if you call closed frontier LLMs (Claude, GPT, Gemini, Grok) at volume and want the lowest per-token price, or you want one wallet for LLM, image, video and music APIs.
Think twice if you need contractual guarantees. A reseller sits between you and the model maker, so SLAs, data-processing terms and compliance certifications are Kie.ai’s, not Anthropic’s or OpenAI’s. Also check rate limits for your workload, and keep a fallback provider: a routing library can switch to OpenRouter or the official API if Kie.ai is down or a model disappears.
